species of mammals including Tiger, Leopard, Gaur (Indian Bison), Wild
Elephant and more than 2000 species of birds. Gaur viewing in India is not
like Africa where there is an abundance of game. In India the excitement
lies more in the search of these animals and the thrill of an encounter,
whether on foot, land rover or elephant back. Our safari will take you to
several wildlife parks and bird sanctuaries such as: -
KANHA WILDLIFE PARK
Set on The Chhota Nagpur Plateau in Madhya Pradesh, Kanha provides breath
taking vistas of grassy plains and strands of mixed sal / teak forests. This
366 sq mile preserve was set to save two endangered species i.e. Tiger and
The Barasingha. You would also have an opportunity to see Swamp Dear, Black
Buck, Cheetal, Indian Bison, Barking Dear, Sambhar, Leopard and Tiger.
BANDHAVGARH NATIONAL PARK
Set amongst The Vindhya Hills in Madhya Pradesh, Bandhavgarh consists of
168 sq miles of Sal & a mixed forest with large stretches of Bamboo and
Grassland to The North. One is generally lucky to view The Tiger, Gaur (
Indian Bison) Chital, Chansingha ( Four horned antelope). This Park houses
some 150 species of birds including the Blue Bearded bee eaters, White
Browed Fantails, and The Malabar Hornbill. The Bandhavgarh Fort , besides
offering breath taking views, houses a 35 ft reclining statue of Lord Vishnu
and 10th Century Rock Images of the incarnation of the Lord.
KEOLADEO GHANA SANCTUARY - BHARATPUR
Bharatpur ( Rajasthan ) located 175 kms (4 ½ hrs Coach Drive) from New
Delhi is renowned for its World - Heritage - listed Bird Sanctuary - The
Keoladeo Ghana National Park. More than 400 species of birds have been
recorded in this 11 sq mile reserve. One would normally see the Painted
Stock, Egret Pelican, Ibis, Cormorant, Grey & White Heron, Crane and
Purple Moorhens. Besides, one can get a glimpse of exotic migrant birds from
Siberia, Afghanistan, Central Asia, Tibet & China.
THE CORBETT NATIONAL PARK
The Jim Corbett National Park lies amidst Sal forests in the Kumaon region
in the foothills of the Himalayas in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Based on
the Ramganga River, this Park extends from 520 to 1318 sq kms. More commonly
seen wildlife includes the Wild Elephant, Langur, Rhesus Macaque, Peacock,
and several types of Deer including Cheetal, Sambhar, Hog Deer and barking
Deer. Also occasionally seen are the Tiger, Leopard, Crocodile and Gharial.
KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK
Based near Gauhati in Assam, Kazirange is a 470 sq mile National Park, set
aside to protect the great One - Horned Asian Rhinoceros. It is estimated
that only 1400 of these magnificent beasts are left is the wild. Besides
these, one can see wild Asian Elephant herds, the Barasingha, Hog Deer &
the Wild Asian Buffalo.
RANTHAMBORE NATIONAL PARK
The Ranthambore National Park stretches for 400 sq kms and is located near
the town of Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan. This Tiger Reserve has been the
host for the National Geographic Film “Land of Tiger“ & even
Mr. Bill Clinton saw his only “Tiger in The Wild” in this park.
The Fort perched on a hilltop offers a stunning view of the park with its
scattered lakes and deciduous forests.

Day 04 Bharatpur - Agra
Early morning visit to the sanctuary. After Breakfast drive to Agra
