DAY
01: Arrive Chennai (Madras)
Traditional welcome on arrival at Chennai Airport - The gateway to India’s
Southern Peninsula. Transfer & overnight at Hotel.
DAY 02: Mamallapuram / Kanchipuram / Chennai
Morning drive south along the Coromandel Coast to Mamallapuram
(Mahabalipuram) famous for the pyramidal Shore Temple besides many others of
the Pallavas Dynasty. Further drive to Kanchipuram - a pilgrimage and silk
weaving center. Late afternoon return to Chennai. Overnight at Hotel.
DAY 03: Chennai / Tiruchirappalli (Trichy)
Morning City tour of Chennai - Fort St. George, St. Mary’s 17th
century Protestant Church, Gallery of Royal Bronzes, Marina Promenade,
Kapaleshwar Shiva Temple. Evening flight to Tiruchirappalli (Trichy).
Transfer and overnight in Hotel.
DAY 04: Trichy - Thanjavur (Tanjore)
Morning visit Rock Fort Temple of Chola Architecture. Further drive to
Tanjore, the ancient capital of Chola Kings. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 05: Thanjavur (Tanjore) - Madurai
Morning visit the Sri Brihadeshwara temple, built by Raja Chola in 10th
century. Evening drive to Madurai. Overnight at Hotel.
DAY 06: Madurai
Morning visit the Tirumala Nayak Palace in this most ancient seal of Tamil
culture. Afternoon, tour the Meenakshi Temple with its hall of 1000 pillars.
Late evening, optional tour to witness the closing ceremony of the temple.
Overnight at Hotel.
DAY 07: Madurai- Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary
Drive to Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary in the laid back state of Kerala.
Periyar is the home to Elephants, Wild Boar, Monkey, Bison,
Shaggy
Sloth Boar, Sambhar Deer and host of birds. Also a rare sight is the Leopard
or Tiger. Overnight at Hotel.
DAY 08: Periyar
Morning visit a tea plantation, a spice market and local villages. Afernoon
free at Leisure. Overnight at Hotel.
DAY 09: Periyar - Kochi (Cochin)
Morning drive to Kottayam followed by Backwater Cruise to Allepey exploring
the Lagoons and Waterways. After cruise drive to Cochin. Overnight at Hotel.
DAY 10: Kochi
Day tour of the city- St. Francis Church, Jewish Synagogue and the Dutch
Palace. Evening optional Kathakali Dance performance. Overnight at Hotel
DAY 11: Kochi - Goa
Morning flight to Goa. Transfer and overnight at Hotel.
DAY 12: Goa
Morning at leisure. Afternoon drive to Old Goa -Church of St. Francis of
Assisi and the Cathedral with twenty-four exquisite Altars. Overnight at
Hotel.
DAY 13: Goa- Mumbai (Bombay)
Morning at leisure. Afternoon flight to Mumbai. Transfer & overnight at
Hotel.
DAY 14: Mumbai
Morning boat ride across Mumbai harbour to Elephanta Island to view 8th
century Cave Temples. Afternoon visit Prince of Wales Museum and the Gateway
of India. Late evening take a buggy ride along Marine Drive. Overnight at
hotel.
DAY 15: Mumbai - Departure
Transfer to International airport for onward/ return flight.
